How long does a Factor implementation take?
This varies by firm. If a firm is able to provide required assets immediately and is available for onboarding calls, then the Factor implementation team can have a company go live on the software in as little as 10 business days.
How does the data migration process work during implementation?
The Factor implementation team will work with your team to create project templates based on your common phase-breakdown structures. In the initial import, each one of your projects will be assigned to a project template. Then a second import can populate phase information, invoiced amounts, and time summaries.
What happens to my Factor licenses if I add/remove employees from my organization?
If an employee is removed from your organization, your Factor license count stays the same and that license is transferrable to another employee. If you need to add a Factor license, you can do so at any time and that license cost will be pro-rated appropriately based on your subscription plan.
Can I track Sub-Consultants in Factor?
Yes. Depending on your preference, sub-consultants can be set up within the phase breakdown or completely separate as an expense budget so that you can easily track and view sub-consultant bills and payments.
Can I make changes to invoices inside Factor?
You can create as many customized invoice templates as you would like inside Factor. The Factor implementation and support teams can also assist you with this task.
Are payments processed inside Factor?
Client payment is not processed within Factor, however, you do have the option to include a QuickBooks payment link in your emailed invoices if you integrate with QuickBooks Online. The link will take clients to the QuickBooks payment portal where they can pay the invoice via credit card or ACH payment.
How much are support packages for Factor?
There are no additional support costs required with Factor. As a paying subscriber of Factor, you automatically receive unlimited access to our support team.
What do my employees have access to inside Factor?
Each employee’s permissions can be customized to the individual in their permissions when they are invited into the system as a user.
Are there different subscription levels for Factor?
No. All subscription prices are the same flat rate.
Can I use Factor without integrating with QuickBooks?
Yes. Factor reports can be formatted to allow for easy upload into other systems. You just won’t experience the benefits of automatic information-sharing and updates.
Do I have to enter data in both Factor and QuickBooks?
No. There is two-way communication between Factor and QuickBooks, so there is no duplicate data-entry.
When was Factor launched?
Factor was originally part of a company that had built a software product for A/E firms, but also built custom software for various clients. In 2018, the original A/E product was moved to a new code base and re-branded to Factor A/E. Full marketing and sales campaigns were then launched at the beginning of 2021.
Does Factor have a mobile app?
Factor is completely responsive and accessible on any device, therefore, a separate application is not needed.
