New Feature Announcement: Updates to Team Schedule
September 24, 2020
To improve your visibility into your team's schedules, we've made three exciting new updates to the Team Schedule feature in Factor. You'll now be able to see schedules in a smaller time period, see the days of the week at a glance, and drill down into an expanded view for each team member. Each of these improvements have been made based on user feedback, so we can continue to make Factor a great experience for you. Let's take a closer look at the new features.
2 Week Time Frame View
When you have team members who work on projects for short amounts of time or who balance many projects at once, the default 10-week team schedule can be too big of a picture. We know that many A/E firms have employees who only work 1-2 days on a given project. Now you can toggle your Team Schedule view to a 2-week time window for a closer view of your team's allocation. Additionally, Factor will remember your time frame selection when you navigate away from the team schedule. Then when you return, you won't have to switch views again (unless you want to!).

Clear Days of the Week Labeling
It can be hard to keep a calendar in your head and remember quickly that the 23rd is a Tuesday, for example. To make life a little simpler and to make it easier for you to track your employee's schedules, we have now labeled the days of the week in both the 10-week and 2-week team schedule views. You'll now be able to tell at a glance what any given week looks like and be able to easily keep an eye on employee's time off as well as other conflicts that might need covered.
"The Team Schedule has three exciting new updates that will improve visibility and help with resource allocation on your projects."
Expanded View for Individuals
The typical team schedule view works well for employees who are only on one or two projects with relatively static schedules. But when you have team members who float between multiple projects, this view can be a little too narrow to see everything clearly. To improve your visibility into resource allocation, we've now included an expanded view for individual team members. This view lets you see a single employee's assignments more clearly by expanding and enlarging them.
Just like in the regular view, each assignment is displayed proportionally to the others by the size of the bar. This shows the amount of time each day an employee allocates to a specific project. To see an employee's schedule in expanded view, click on the arrow next to their name.
Let Us Know What You Think
We hope that these new features will improve your visibility into your team's schedule and help you better allocate their time across projects. At Factor, we always appreciate hearing from our users. If you have an idea for how features could be improved or any other feedback, you can share it with our team by sending usan email or clicking on the question mark in the lower right of your screen in the app.
